   We suggest that a Division Cheer Leader be appointed. We nominate "Slim Kellum". 
   Let it be his job to teach the yells. We are strong for the following:
   Cooties--hardtack--shot and shell! Seventy-niners---Give 'em hell!
 
   Says Basil, the Belligerent Buck: "Cooties have helped me in my history studies at Lorraine Cross High School.   
   For instance, I know now why Bonaparte always has his hand in the front of his shirt"
 
   COOTIES
   (to the tune of "Smiles")
 
   There are cooties that crawl around the ankles.
   There are cooties that crawl around the knee.
   There are cooties that keep the soldiers wondering
   Where they are that they can never see.
   There are cooties that cause some awful scratching
   That make a doughboy mad as he can be
   But the cooties that I had in the trenches
   Are the cooties that appeal to me.
