First Letter: August 26, 1918


 
Dear Brother and Sister and Kiddies,
I suppose you are all thinking of me and wonder where I am but beleave [sic] that I am all OK and ready for the dam Huns any time now the old boys are giving them Hell all over.
God guess I won't longer So hope to be home for Christmas and I am of them let hope so.
Well Jack, How's all the family are they all well? Louis and the Kidsa.
Tell Jonner and Henry that the little french boys are some and are good too. I would like to see the old USA.
am a more you are working everyday at the shop and you still getting your Light Ale. I am just wrote to Harry and
I am going to write to Jack Burke now and then all for today so be good Jack and give my love to Louis and kiss the kiddies for me and tellt hem I will bring back a gun for them when I come home.
Tell Mother to send a paper or you can send one for I wwould like to read one.
